CMCH Synopsis: 85 male and 14 female college students played a violent video game in which they had to kill opponents in order to get further in the game. Half of the students played with a regular video game controller, while the other half played with an interactive, hand-held gun.

Researchers found that over the course of playing, the students became increasingly aggressive and hostile, especially those who used the hand-held gun. These results suggest that playing violent video games leads to more aggressive tendencies among young people. © Center on Media and Child Health
