CMCH Suggestions: Provide Non-Media Activities

Guiding children toward non-media activities is a sure way to reduce their screen time. The busier they are exploring the real world, the less likely they'll resort to TV shows, video games and the computer for entertainment. Here are some ideas:

Games: Here are some creative ideas for outdoor games, mind games, chase games, word games, and more!

Crafts & Learning Projects: Find seasonal craft and project ideas, search by age, or narrow by subject area.

Cooking: See how to get your little ones involved in meal preparation; surely you could use the help!

Service Projects: Kids can enter their zip code, choose which cause they're interested in and how long they want to commit so they can find just the right opportunities to fit their interests.

Orienteering for Teens: Orienteering is the sport of navigation with a map and compass, which provides opportunities for physical activity and decision-making skills.
