
In 2010, the Kaiser Family Foundation did a survey, which showed that television content is still the dominating media technology, although youth are consuming this content in different ways. Youth are watching live TV, time-shifted TV, DVDs/Videos, and TV on other platforms (such as the Internet, an iPod/MP3 player, or a cell phone). They found:
- Youth ages 8-10 watch a total of 3 hours and 41 minutes of TV content per day
- Youth ages 11-14 watch a total of 5 hours and 3 minutes of TV content per day
- Youth ages 15-18 watch a total of 4 hours and 22 minutes of TV content per day
