Michael Tsappis, M.D., is an instructor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and Attending Psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry and the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. After earning a degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California in San Diego, Dr. Tsappis remained in California to attend medical school at Loma Linda University. He completed specialty training at the University of Vermont and Penn State Medical Centers. He is board certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

At Boston Children’s Hospital, Dr. Tsappis provides direct care to adolescents and their families through the Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine Clinic. He is co-founder of the Clinic for Interactive Media and Internet Disorders, a center for treatment, research and education about Problematic Interactive Media Use. As part of his mission to increase understanding of media related health effects, Dr. Tsappis has been invited to present lectures and workshops to local, national and international audiences.
