CMCH authors are well represented in the new book Children and Television: Fifty Years of Research.  Editor Ellen Wartella is a member of the CMCH Advisory Board and editor John Murray was a visiting scientist at CMCH during 2005.  Additionally, CMCH Researchers have written these chapters:

  • David Bickham was second author on the chapter "From Attention to Comprehension: How Children Watch and Learn From Television"
  • Marie Evans Schmidt was lead author on the chapter "The Impact of Television on Cognitive Development and Educational Achievement
  • Michael Rich wrote the chapter "Is Television Healthy? The Medical Perspective"

The book also comes with a CD-ROM containing a 130-page bibliography of television research. Many of the citations can be found, along with their structured abstracts, in the CMCH Database of Research
