The Parents’ Television Council has released a report on prime-time violence on the six major television networks, analyzing over 1,000 hours of programming in the past three years.  They compared the data from these years to an earlier analysis they did from 1998-2002, and made some disturbing findings:

  • Violence has increased in every time slot
  • Violent scenes increasingly include a sexual element
  • In the 2005-2006 season, 49% of episodes in the study group contained at least one violent act
