Media Health Matters

January 2016

It’s not too late!

It’s 2016, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to start a healthy habit around media use, or what we call a “medialution.”

Our own Mediatrician, researchers, and even celebrities have talked about the importance and value of “digital detox”, or taking time away from devices to reconnect with family, friends and the environment. Taking a yearlong break from all media is impossible (and unnecessary) for many of us. But, you and your family can choose a small, manageable goal around media use to work towards together!

Whether committing to shutting off all devices during dinner, removing all screens (like TVs and smartphones) from bedrooms, or agreeing to spend less time video gaming, find a medialution that is right for your family. Receive added support by exploring our website for tips and ideas. Share your goals and progress with us on social media using #medialution. Here’s to a happy, healthy new year!
